Tribute to Sunil Mankad

23 May 2025

24 December 1968 – 6 May 2025

This space is dedicated to remembering and celebrating the life of Sunil Mankad, a much loved brother, uncle, family member, friend and colleague, stolen from us unexpectedly. We are devastated at his passing and thank all those who have taken the time to message personally or visit this website, for the condolences and compassion towards, Kiri (Kirti), Simon, Milo and extended family who have so greatly felt this loss in their lives.

Sunil was not religious but he was spiritual, so we wish to respect that and have a arranged his farewell journey accordingly.  Close family members will attend a shortform Hindu last rites ceremony as acknowledgement of his culture, prior to his journey to the crematorium.

Tributes will be given by family members at the crematorium to capture the essence of what he meant to them by sharing stories, anecdotes and experiences.

Precious moments captured in a series of photographs are available to see here.

Donations

If anyone feels inclined to make a charitable donation, then we ask that you consider https://www.asthmaandlung.org.uk/ as Sunil was an asthma sufferer from childhood.  It was a sudden acute attack which left him breathless, to collapse and go into cardiac arrest, the consequences from which he did not recover.

Needless to say the medical teams at Northwick Park hospital, from the paramedics who attended to him outside his home to the nurses and consultants, all did a phenomenal job of making him comfortable and caring for him in his last days.  A donation may be made via https://www.lnwh.nhs.uk/lnwh-charity/

Finally, a special thank you to Charles for quickly obtaining my number and to the people who immediately helped Sunil from the moment he collapsed.  They came to the aid of a stranger in his hour of need without hesitation and for which his family is truly grateful.  This evidence of kindness, courage and selflessness gives hope that we are all here for each other, no matter what life throws at us.

Both now and for always, I intend to hold fast to my belief in the hidden strength of the human spirit
